The Santa Paula Art Museum is excited to introduce its Strings Program, a free program consisiting of 20 sessions of violin lessons held in a group format and led by Mr. Steve Eddy, Strings Program Director. Each hour-long session will be held at the Museum on Monday afternoons after school. Lessons will include both formal instruction on playing the violin as well as exposure to professional musicians. The program is designed to encourage music appreciation, creative expression and analytical thinking.

Applications are available at the Santa Paula Art Museum or can be downloaded (in English or Spanish) using the link below

Applications, including letters of recommendation and essays, must be completed and returned to the Museum no later than 5 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2012

Candidates may be any student currently in grades 4 through 8

Students accepted into the Strings Program must commit to the entire 20-session program and have a parent or guardian present at every lesson

Violins, accessories and music books will be provided in exchange for a nominal security deposit due at the first lesson (Participants will also have the option to buy their instruments outright)
