Top 5 Moments of the Week Ending February 3, 2019

Here are the Museum’s top 5 moments for the week ending February 3, 2019:

SANTA PAULA ART MUSEUM ISPY ACTIVITY

During school tours, we supply young visitors with iPads and close-up images from our exhibits, and they search for the matching artwork. Their joy in finding the matching artwork is incredibly contagious.

Santa Paula Art Museum selfportrait station

Inside our new self-portrait exhibition, we installed an art-making station so that visitors can create their own self-portrait to add to the exhibit. Tips and tools are provided.

SANTA PAULA ART MUSEUM VILLANOVA OPENING

Students from Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai and their parents enjoyed the opening reception of the students’ new exhibit Expressions Through Contours and Color, which hangs in our student gallery.

santa paula art museum self portrait premiere

The rain cleared just long enough for us to celebrate the premiere of our new exhibit, I Am Me: Artists' Self-Portraits on Saturday, February 2. It was a great turnout. The show is on view now through May 12, 2019.

santa paula art museum valentines

On Sunday, February 3, local artist Karen Browdy shared her passion for collage with Valentine art activities during Free Family Day. Families could drop in between 12:00pm and 3:00pm and make art together.
