Paint large and wide in Oil Painting: Panoramic Landscapes! Join teaching artist Gabriel Islas inside the Museum’s Cole Creativity Center for a step-by-step process that will teach you how to plan and execute a landscape painting on a 18” x 36” panoramic canvas, using oil paints. Special attention will be paid to the unique considerations of composition, depth and color. The six session course will include a mix of lessons, demonstrations, and individual feedback to build your landscape practice.
This six part course will be taught on six consecutive Saturdays: June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This class is appropriate for everyone ages 16 and over. The cost of this five-part course is $200.00 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited.

About Our Teaching Artist: An Oxnard native, Gabriel Islas obtained his BFA with an emphasis in painting from Academy of Art University, San Francisco. He now exhibits atmospheric paintings of his favorite California landscapes, teaches fine art, and leads the education department at the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Cole Creativity Center.
