Discover the art of printmaking in this beginner-friendly workshop! Join teaching artist Nathanael Read at SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center for a hands-on introduction to linoleum block printing. Learn to transfer designs, carve 4” x 5” blocks, and create prints using hand burnishing and a professional press while exploring bold line work and foundational techniques.
This workshop will be taught on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This class is for ages 16 and over. The cost of this workshop is $42 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.

About Our Teaching Artist:
Nathanael Read is a printmaker, quilter, collage artist, and animator working in Ventura, CA. Originally from Salt Lake City, UT, he received his BFA from the University of Utah and his MFA from the University of Connecticut. His work has been exhibited at Finch Lane Gallery, Springville Museum of Art in Utah, South Cobb Art Alliance in Georgia, the Hartnett Museum at the University of Richmond in Virginia, The Wurks in Rhode Island, the Mattatuck Museum, the Dye & Bleach House Community Gallery, and the William Benton Museum of Art in Connecticut.
