Learn how to carve and print your very own design in this creative printmaking workshop! Join teaching artist Nathanael Read inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center to learn all about composition, texture, and mark-making. Nathanael will focus on graphic line quality, hand burnishing techniques, and utilizing a professional printmaking press using 6” x 8” mounted linoleum blocks.
This workshop will be taught on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This class is for ages 16 and over. The cost of this workshop is $42 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.

About Our Teaching Artist:
Nathanael Read is a printmaker, quilter, collage artist, and animator working in Ventura, CA. Originally from Salt Lake City, UT, he received his BFA from the University of Utah and his MFA from the University of Connecticut. His work has been exhibited at Finch Lane Gallery, Springville Museum of Art in Utah, South Cobb Art Alliance in Georgia, the Hartnett Museum at the University of Richmond in Virginia, The Wurks in Rhode Island, the Mattatuck Museum, the Dye & Bleach House Community Gallery, and the William Benton Museum of Art in Connecticut.
