Create a soft, strong, and stylish leash for your four-legged friend! In this hands-on macramé workshop, students will make a six-foot dog leash complete with a comfortable handle and decorative grips along its spiral design. Learn essential macramé techniques, including the lark’s head, square, half-square, and gathering knots, plus a few tricks of the trade. Made from durable, 100% cotton cord that’s machine washable, your finished leash makes a great accessory for your own pup—or a thoughtful gift for a friend or favorite dog walker.

This one-day workshop takes place Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

This class is for ages 16 and over. The cost of this workshop is $70 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. About Our Teaching Artist:

Growing up in Ojai as a child of an artist and school teacher, I have been a crafter all my life. In the last 7 years I have enjoyed playing around with knots and creating macrame pieces. My recent passion is recreating lamp shades, although I love to design hangings and repurpose jars into luminaries and vases. My business name is Knot for Now.
