The new Collage Essentials class at the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Cole Creativity Center is definitely not your grandmother’s kind of collage! Equal parts memory, curiosity, experiment and instinct, collage is a fascinating medium with endless potential for creative expression. In an ongoing series at the Cole Creativity Center, artist Karen Browdy will share the essential skills, tools, and techniques needed to build a meaningful art practice in collage. Students will apply basic art theories using a variety of collage strategies, and leave each session with their own personal creation. All supplies are provided and the class is open to everyone aged 16 and over.
Collage Essentials is offered on multiple dates and can be taken once or recurrently as each class will differ. Currently scheduled dates for this course include Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and Thursday, August 16, 2018, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The cost of each class is $35.00, and museum members receive 10% off all classes! You can register for class online at https://www.santapaulaartmuseum.org/classes/collageessentials. While online registration is preferred, you can also register for class by calling (805) 525-5554 or by visiting the Santa Paula Art Museum.
