Parent and Child Art Class (Ages 3-6) - September

Engage in meaningful art activities with your child in the supportive environment of the Cole Creativity Center! Our new Parent and Child classes are all about having fun and exploring art in a variety of washable and safe media. Each week, teaching artist Mieriam Ross will guide students through lessons with curriculum designed to foster creativity, expression, and skill building for ages 3 through 6.

Please note that this is a four-week program, meeting on four consecutive Mondays: September 8, September 15, September 22 & September 29, 2025 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

This class is appropriate for children ages 3-6. The cost of class covers enrollment for you and your child. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center, located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.

*A parent or guardian will be required to sign each student in and out of class every session. Please bring snacks and drinks. Water will be available.

Youth Scholarships Available!

The Santa Paula Art Museum offers financial assistance to qualifying individuals. To qualify, students must be between the ages of 3 and 18, and their family must be enrolled in the state’s EBT or WIC program. Once verified, you will receive a discount code to use towards enrollment. Financial assistance is limited and not guaranteed.

 

Participe en actividades artísticas significativas con su hijo en el entorno de apoyo del Cole Creativity Center. Nuestras nuevas clases para padres e hijos se centran en divertirse y explorar el arte en una variedad de medios lavables y seguros. Cada semana, la artista docente Mieriam Ross guiará a los estudiantes a través de lecciones con un plan de estudios diseñado para fomentar la creatividad, la expresión y el desarrollo de habilidades para las edades de 3 y 6 años.

Tenga en cuenta que este es un programa de cuatro semanas, que se reúne cuatro lunes consecutivos: 4 de agosto, 11 de agosto, 18 de agosto, 25 de agosto, de 2025, de 4:30 a 5:30 p.m.

About Our Teaching Artist:

Mieriam J. Ross began studying art at the age of twelve with a private instructor. She continued her art education through college and received her BA in Studio Art from California State University Channel Islands. Shortly after graduating, she discovered her passion for teaching art to children. Since 2018, she has taught art in various settings including: local private schools, after school programs, art studios, and private lessons from home. Currently, Mieriam’s favorite medium is watercolor. She enjoys focusing on small animals and landscapes for her subjects. She is most inspired by children’s art. Mieriam understands how staying connected to your inner child plays an important role in the art making process. This is why she is greatly honored to get to witness young humans in this special stage. Mieriam has a deep respect for the responsibility and opportunity of teaching art to children. She carefully guides her students to preserve their creativity while honing in on skills to help them in their creative endeavors.
