About Our Teaching Artist:

Abigail Mildbrandt is a ceramic artist based in Oxnard, California, originally from Port Hueneme. She received her BA in Art from California State University, Chico, and has worked with ceramics for over eight years. Her practice centers on functional and decorative pottery made on the wheel, often featuring experimental glazing techniques. Mildbrandt’s background in drawing and two-dimensional work informs the surfaces and visual language of her ceramics. In addition to her studio practice, she teaches art to children through the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Aspire after-school program.
