Dive into the raw, emotive world of Abstract Expressionism and learn to paint beyond the boundaries of traditional form. Inspired by the revolutionary movements of the 1940s and 50s, this hands-on studio class focuses on the act of painting itself as a means of pure, personal expression. Explore how to channel energy, emotion, and spontaneity directly onto canvas and master dynamic techniques like dripping, pouring, splashing, and aggressive brushwork à la Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Whether you are a seasoned painter looking to loosen up your style or a complete novice eager to make your mark, this class offers a liberating, supportive space to discover your unique visual voice. Acrylic paints, mediums, and large-format canvases are included.
Note: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy!
