Create your very own softcover notebook using a simple hand-sewn saddle stitch binding technique! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn to fold paper into folios, prepare a decorative cardstock cover, and use an awl to create evenly spaced holes for stitching. You’ll then learn basic stitching techniques to bind the pages and cover together along the spine.

You’ll leave with a finished notebook perfect for writing, sketching, or giving as a gift, along with the skills to make more at home.

This is a one day workshop that will be taught on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This class is for ages 16 and over. The cost of this workshop is $45 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.
