Join us for Free Family Day inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our September event invites families to explore the rich traditions, stories, and artistic expressions of Indigenous cultures through hands-on art activities designed for all ages. Guests will learn about Indigenous materials, symbols, and techniques while creating their own inspired artworks. Admission is free, all are welcome, and all materials are provided.
At 1 PM, Tonetta Lone Elk, a Northern Cheyenne Native American and Ventura County educator, will lead a book reading and hands-on activity that explores pictographs and the visual storytelling traditions of her ancestors.
Fun fact: Santa Paula is home to three museums, all of which offer free admission on the first Sunday of every month. Make a day of it and visit the Santa Paula Art Museum, the Museum of Ventura County’s Agriculture Museum, and the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula. Hours and activities will vary by location, so be sure to check each museum’s website or Facebook page for full details. (Please note, the California Oil Museum is currently closed.)
