Ribbon rosettes are perfect for birthdays, baby showers, awards, graduations, and more—or you can simply make them for fun! Join teaching artist Janely Quijas to explore a variety of ribbon-folding techniques, including the circle ruffle, where ribbon is folded and gathered into a circle; the star point fold, where ribbon is folded into triangles to create a star shape; and the stacked layer fold, where different ribbons are layered to create a dimensional, 3D design.
You’re welcome to bring your own fabric and ribbon or use the materials provided. This class is appropriate for ages 9 and up. Parents may drop off their child or join in the fun—just be sure to reserve your own spot if you’d like to participate!
This class is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The cost of class is $40.00 per person. Beginners are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required.

Youth Scholarships Available!
The Santa Paula Art Museum’s Cole Creativity Center offers financial assistance to qualifying students under the age of 18 whose families are enrolled in California’s EBT or WIC programs. Once eligibility is verified, you will receive a discount code to use towards enrollment. Financial assistance is limited and not guaranteed. Eligible families may use this scholarship for up to 6 classes (or up to 2 camps) per year.
Our scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of our donors, including the Cathy Barringer Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Kitty Botke Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Tina Lorch Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Margo Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund.
About Our Teaching Artist:
Janely Quijas is an artist from Ventura County, California, who has loved art and creating from an early age. Her paintings and digital artwork bring a colorful spark of nostalgia to themes inspired by childhood, nature, fantasy, and her cultural roots.
Janely graduated from California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) in May 2026 with a degree in Studio Art. During her time at CSUCI, she experimented with a variety of materials and techniques, developing a love for working across multiple mediums, including painting, printmaking, digital art, and graphic design.
